Bale Route

Bale Route

Loop loads up bales for Chicagoland businesses producing baled cardboard, paper, or plastic. Flatbed tractor-trailer service paid at OBM/RISI market value — often with no service charges.

A Premium recycling program for producers of finished bales.

Bale route is designed exclusively for businesses that bale or bundle their recyclables on-site. We bring the trailer and the forklift. Material moves mill-direct.

Bale route service is typically performed using a tractor with a 53' flatbed trailer equipped with a ramp for a forklift. Because Loop loads and unloads — and because baled material arrives at our mills in mill-ready form — the bale route is often provided without any service charges.

Better still, participating customers are paid a percentage or dollar value tied to the OBM / RISI Recovered Paper Market. When market prices rise, your rebate rises with them. This makes the bale route the highest-value recycling program Loop offers for high-volume generators.

Bale route is the right service for facilities that already operate a baler or compactor and produce mill-sized bales of OCC (cardboard)sorted office paper, white ledger, or mixed paper, or baled plastics. If you don't bale on-site yet, our trailer service or roll-off containers may be a better starting point — and we can help you upgrade to a baler when volume justifies it.

What Happens After Pickup?

Material is destroyed, documented, and processed so that fiber, metal, and plastic components can re-enter the supply chain wherever possible. Witnessed and on-site destruction options are available for high-sensitivity loads.

  • Shredded paper is baled and shipped to a mill as recovered fiber feedstock.
  • Hard drives and electronic media are physically destroyed and routed through downstream e-waste recyclers.
  • Product, packaging, and mixed materials are separated post-destruction so recyclable components are recovered, and the remainder is responsibly diverted.
  • A Certificate of Destruction is issued for every job, documenting what was destroyed, when, and how.
